GPSnet CORS Goods and Maintenance Services

⁠⁠⁠The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) manages and operates GPSnet, Victoria’s statewide GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) infrastructure of Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS). GPSnet is a mission-critical system that provides centimetre-level real-time positioning services to support a wide range of public and private sector applications, including transport and infrastructure planning, precision agriculture, construction, surveying, environmental monitoring, and emergency management. These applications rely on uninterrupted, highly accurate, and constantly available GNSS data.

The procurement involves engaging a supplier for the delivery of goods and maintenance services to support the operation of the GPSnet CORS across Victoria.

The procurement seeks to engage a qualified and experienced supplier to deliver a comprehensive suite of goods and maintenance services that support the ongoing operation, reliability, and future growth of the GPSnet network.

The scope of the procurement includes both the supply of largely "off the shelf" equipment and the provision of "in field" services required to install, maintain, upgrade, and, where necessary, decommission and relocate GPSnet CORS infrastructure. These services will be performed across approximately 147 CORS sites distributed throughout metropolitan, regional, and remote areas of Victoria.

Key goods to be provided include communications equipment (e.g., 4G/5G antennas, routers), electrical components (e.g., UPS systems, PDUs, ATS units), cabinets, and ancillary hardware required for CORS operation. Maintenance services include scheduled annual servicing, fault response, break/fix repairs, equipment lifecycle replacement, site surveys, documentation, and project management. The successful supplier will also be required to operate storage and staging facilities within close proximity to Melbourne, and to provide online tools for task coordination and data sharing with the GPSnet operations team.

This procurement is essential to ensure that GPSnet continues to deliver high-precision positioning infrastructure and services to meet the operational and technological needs of users across Victoria, Interstate and Internationally.
