Tender Description

Participants of NGN forums have raised that management of roadside weeds might be contributing to challenges with weeds dispersing into cropping paddocks. Warooka NGN forum attendees note a number of hard to control weeds make management difficult on farm including flax leaf fleabane, a prolific producer of wind-dispersed seed. Fleabane is tolerant of glyphosate when applied at advanced growth stages, which is a likely scenario when roadside weeds are controlled on a timeline, resulting in failure of control and/or selecting for resistant plants. Feather top Rhodes grass is another weed of concern making its way into paddocks. Langhorne Creek NGN Forum where proximity to small land holders, horticulture and viticulture, and the need to manage community relationships can inhibit effective roadside weed management due to the need for more complex integrated management strategies.
