Whitsunday Regional Council (Council) is seeking a suitably qualified organisation to complete an upgrade to the Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS) at the Whitsunday Coastal Airport (WCA), Lascelles Avenue, Gunyarra Qld 4800.

It is proposed to upgrade the existing FIDS system which is in operation at WCA with a more reliable up to date enterprise grade system solution. The works incorporate the design of a new system, supply and installation of new hardware and equipment (if required), software, commissioning, end-user training and operational support. WCA is currently using the Intersystems ‘FIDS’ solution, with this agreement due to expire in August 2025.

WCA currently have equipment installed that the current system is operating on as listed in Clause 2.1 of the Specification.

It is Council’s preference to have a new upgraded software solution be installed and operate on the existing equipment and the ability to provide an application that can be installed on Android devices which WCA personnel currently utilise.

Council may consider other options.
