Australian Catholic University (ACU) was established in 1990 through incorporation as a public company limited by guarantee, incorporated pursuant to the Corporations Act.

ACU is a public university funded by the Commonwealth Government and is open to students and staff of all religious beliefs. ACU has a number of research institutes and four (4) faculties: Education and Arts, Health Sciences, Law and Business and Theology and Philosophy.

ACU has approximately 35,000 students and over 2,000 staff across seven (7) Australian campuses: Ballarat, Blacktown, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, North Sydney and Strathfield and a campus in Rome, Italy.

The University is required to undertake annual external Audits of its annual financial statements in accordance with the Corporations Act 2001, Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC) Act 2012 and ACNC Regulations 2013 as well as the (Federal) Department of Education and Training’s Financial Statement Guidelines for Australian Higher Education Provider, therefore, through this RFP process, ACU seeks to select and engage an external auditor service.
