Tender Description
Project goals
The new Disability Sports Centre, developed in partnership with Disability Sport Australia and the NSW Office of Sport, aims to create a dedicated, inclusive training hub for a wide range of disability sports. Scheduled to open in September 2025 within the existing Blacktown International Sports Park, the facility prioritises accessibility, flexibility, and user-focused design. With indoor courts suitable for seated volleyball, goalball, badminton, wheelchair basketball, powerchair and wheelchair rugby, and connected to the adjacent athletics stadium, the centre is purpose-built for training and development. Given its size and strategic location, BCC is of the view that the site can support sportspeople and the wider community to maximise health, performance and rehabilitation outcomes with world class facilities and services.
Scope
Council is seeking tenants interested in leasing the facility and delivering services or programs aligned with the purpose of the Disability Sports Centre.
Council welcomes proposals from organisations that can contribute to activating the centre and supporting its vision as a hub for inclusive, community-focused sport and recreation.
