Tender Description
The Northern Territory Committee is seeking Expressions of Interest for a Faculty or a Chapter Representatives for a three-year term from 2025 to 2028.
The Committee represents the interests of College members in NT, ensuring their perspectives are reflected in College activities and governance. Its functions are to:
- advocate for and lead the development of NT-based policy priorities
- facilitate effective connections with NT governments and advocate on behalf of the College, Fellows and trainees with relevant Ministers on local issues
- contribute to College-wide policy through representation on the College Policy Advocacy Committee (CPAC), bringing local perspectives to the attention of CPAC
- advocate for and promote College-wide education policy priorities within NT with Fellows, trainees, health authorities and other stakeholders
- contribute to College-wide strategic direction through participation in the College Council, bringing locally based challenges to the College’s attention
- support engagement with health-related organisations and regulators to improve health outcomes for local communities and uphold professional standards
- recommend College representatives for nomination on external NT bodies to the RACP President
- promote educational opportunities and deliver locally organised education forums for Fellows and trainees in NT
- provide insights to the College Education Committee and the Continuing Professional Development Committee on the needs of NT members.
The Committee meets 5 times per year mostly via video conference, with the option for 1 face-to-face meeting per year. Members may also need to attend meetings as required.
