Replacement of hypervisor host servers
Tender ID: 582102
Tender Details
Tender Description
This Tender is invited by the Issuer.
The Museum of Democracy (MoAD) at Old Parliament house are requesting information regarding solutions to replace existing on-premises server infrastructure that is EOL.
The current server infrastructure consists of two Dell R640 hosts running Microsoft Server 2019 with Hyper V. They are running 18 production VMs. Details:
HVH1 Dell PowerEdge R640
190.48GB RAM
Storage= C: 80GB, D: 2.61TB, E: 362GB
HVH2 Dell PowerEdge R640
190.63GB RAM
Storage= C: 893GB, D: 4.99TB, V: 10.2TB
The VMs consist of a number of local ADDS servers, together with application and backup servers. There are around 80-90 Windows client PCs that are managed from this local domain. The server infrastructure is monitored and patched via local systems such as SCCM, ManageEngine Patch Manager and Rapid7 Insight.
MoAD are looking for solutions to replace these with new server hardware that will allow for the smooth migration of existing VMs too and for future expansion in available resources.
Ideally the Hypervisor will be using Microsoft Hyper-V and allow ease of migration of servers to Azure and preferably management via Azure Arc as MoAD moves more services to the cloud.
The users and their needs
Due to the small IT team at MoAD, we are looking for solutions to be simple to manage and provide redundancy and HA. Integration with a backup and DR solution for the on-premise servers is a requirement. We are currently using Veeam Backup and Replication that replicates to Cloud storage. Please note, that this RFI will feed into a larger RFQ project.
