Tender Description
The City of Casey, a major growth area in Melbourne, is experiencing significant new housing development, especially in the south. This growth brings new responsibilities for parks and open spaces, and Council is upgrading existing assets through capital works programs.
Open Space maintenance contracts, mainly in central zones, are expected to grow. However, this growth is tied to urban development, and any slowdown will impact new open space provision. A Schedule of Rates will apply to new areas and assets handed over to Council for ongoing maintenance, either by developers or the successful tenderer(s). If existing sites or assets are temporarily or permanently removed, a deduction contract variation will apply.
Council plans to continuously improve Open Space Assets, adding minor assets like trees, benches, and lighting. These additions won't warrant a contract variation, and the successful tenderer(s) must accommodate them. Changes in the area of garden beds and mowing spaces will result in a contract variation reflecting these changes.
