Tender Description

The City of Kingston is seeking tenders from suitably qualified contractors to provide Electrical Services in accordance with the requirements of this Specification. Council is looking to establish a panel of contractors to ensure flexibility and responsiveness for ongoing electrical maintenance work across public buildings, facilities, and assets throughout the City of Kingston.

The City of Kingston is a coastal municipal district located approximately 20km south of Melbourne's CBD, with a population of over 160,000 and a physical area covering 91 square kilometres. The City is predominantly residential but also includes 13 kilometres of beaches, a large industrial zone, and a variety of shopping facilities, entertainment venues, parks, and sporting facilities.

The City of Kingston’s, City Works Building Maintenance Team, has primary responsibility for the preservation and maintenance of Council-owned buildings and assets across the municipality, which includes around 300 buildings and structures of varying size and complexity, such as:

  •  Leisure Centres
  •  Maternal & Child Health Centres
  •  Child Care Centres
  •  Pre-Schools
  •  Depots
  •  Pavilions
  •  Community Centres
  •  Public Conveniences, and more.

The City of Kingston encompasses suburbs including Aspendale, Aspendale Gardens, Bonbeach, Braeside, Carrum, Chelsea, Chelsea Heights, Cheltenham, Clarinda, Clayton South, Dingley Village, Edithvale, Heatherton, Highett, Mentone, Moorabbin, Mordialloc, Oakleigh South, Parkdale, Patterson Lakes, and Waterways.

Contractors must be suitably qualified and experienced in Electrical Services and are expected to perform all work to the highest industry standards. They must also demonstrate innovation, provide a comprehensive range of electrical services, and adapt to the unique and evolving needs of the facilities.

This includes offering efficient, cost-effective solutions while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.

This contract covers both programmed and reactive electrical maintenance. Reactive works include repairs due to storms, vandalism, or wear and tear, with specific completion deadlines. Planned works include maintaining systems like emergency lighting, public lighting, sports field lighting, and testing electrical equipment. Contractors must possess the necessary qualifications and be readily available to perform both reactive and scheduled electrical maintenance services.
