Under the NSW Treasury TPP20-08 Internal Audit and Risk Management Policy, TAFE NSW require an internal audit function to provide independent assurance that risks are being managed effectively.

Project goals

TAFE NSW is taking a two-stage process to engage an appropriate supplier.

Stage 2 – RFP via TAFE NSW Ariba

Scope

TAFE NSW has a 3-year strategic internal audit plan that is reviewed annually. The content of the annual internal audit plan varies year-to-year depending on emerging risks, the risk profile, and business priorities.

There are approximately 16 internal audits conducted per annum which are allocated to in-house resources, or the service provider, dependent on the scope and requirements of each audit. Approximately 300 outsourced internal audit days per annum are required to supplement in-house resources. The number of outsourced days may change over the duration of the contract, depending on the skill mix of the in-house Specialists, and type of audits to be delivered (i.e. standard or complex).

Minimum requirements to Register for the RFP are:

· Prequalification Scheme: Performance and Management Services (SCM005) Scheme type 6 – Audit, quality assurance and risk/6A internal/external audit

· Previous experience with large complex organisations like TAFE NSW.
