Australian Grand Prix - Site Electrical Services

⁠⁠⁠OVERVIEW

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) is intending to release a Request for Tender (RFT) in April 2025 and is seeking Expressions of Interest for the provision of Site Electrical Services for the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix events (Event), to be held at Albert Park, Melbourne (Site) from 2026 onwards.

EVENT

The Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix event is held over a four-day period, typically in March/April each year.

Construction of infrastructure to facilitate the Event is carried out over a 12 week build period in accordance with a strict Construction Programme, with dismantle beginning immediately following the Event. Full dismantle is required within four weeks of the Event.

SCOPE OF WORKS

The Site Electrical Services scope includes, but is not limited to:

Part A - Infrastructure Works

The scope of Infrastructure works includes the design, installation and testing, operational maintenance throughout the period of use and the subsequent removal of all items installed, cleaning up and making good the site. The scope of works is broadly described as works relating to the electrical infrastructure, mains power reticulation to the site, and fit out works relating to the Formula 1® paddock and Pit Buildings 1-6 including the pit wall. Generally, the works will include the distribution of mains power to distribution boards but excludes the final reticulation of sub-mains and final circuits within corporate facilities and support marquees which will fall under Part B – Fit Out Works.

Part B – Internal Electrical Fitout

The scope of works shall include the electrical fit-out and testing, operational maintenance throughout the period of use and the subsequent removal of all items installed, cleaning up and making good of existing and temporary buildings across the site. The Contractor shall have some existing AGPC owned assets available to undertake the fit-out or are able to supply on hire their own equipment that may realise a cost saving on installation. All such options must be made explicit by the contractor.

Part C – Site Electrical Fitout

The scope of works for this Contract is broadly described as works relating to the electrical distribution (or final connection) to merchandising outlets, entertainment displays and support category marquees. Generally the works will include the distribution of mains power(soft wiring) from distribution boards and the final reticulation of sub-mains and final circuits around the site but excludes the installation of Main Switch boards and works within the Formula 1 Paddock and Pit buildings.

Part D - Street Lighting and Traffic Signals

The scope is to provide street lighting removal and reinstatement services including, but not be limited to:

• Preliminaries, including provision of own Site facilities;
• Removal and reinstallation of street lighting poles(including electrical disconnection and reinstatement);
• Removal and reinstallation of field lighting poles;
• Switching of lighting circuits between automatic(PE sensor) and manual modes for the Event;
• Provision of structural and electrical certification following reinstallation of all light poles; and
• Pre event audit of street lighting and field lighting poles in specified locations.
