Demolition and removal of the existing structure at the Governor Elevated Walkway and Lookout in Mount Kaputar NP, and construct a new walkway incl. staircases, elevated walkway, and lookout platform
Project goals
The objective of this project is to construct a new walkway including staircases, elevated walkway, and lookout platform at the Governor Elevated Walkway and Lookout in Mount Kaputar National Park.
Scope
This Project will involve demolition and removal of existing structure from the site, and supply and construction of new walkway including staircases, elevated walkway, and lookout platform in accordance to the approved engineering plans.
- Governor Lookout Platform, a 27m long timber walkway with 3m wide observation deck.
- The Governor Platform and Ramp – Timber ramp structure bolted to concrete footing or natural rock. Total length of 155m.
- Governor Walkway and Staircase – Timber walkway bolted to concrete footing or natural rock approx 26m long. Staircase is fabricated from Unistrut sections with galvanized pipe infilled with wire mesh with 3 runs between landings with a total of 24 x 250x240mm risers.
- Staircase to Governor – a second fabricated Unistrut and galvanized pipe with mesh infill. Current column connections are dowelled and epoxyed into rock. This staircase has a total height of 7 meters with 31 x 240x240 risers with 3 landings.
The successful supplier must have the ability to work in isolated and remote terrain and experience with helicopter lifting operations and preparing sling loads to assist in importing and removing materials
All activities within the contract must be completed by June 30, 2025.
