Design of the Dorrigo Arc Rainforest Centre - Expression of Interest

⁠⁠⁠Expression of Interest for Principal Design Consultant to produce a design for the construction of the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre and elevated Arc platform.

Project goals

NPWS seeks to engage an experienced Principal Design Consultant to complete the design and documentation for construction for the DARC.

The vision for the DARC project is:

• to create inspiring experiences that connect people with Gondwana Rainforests of Australia and Gumbaynggirr Aboriginal culture for generations to come, 
• to provide ongoing protection of our natural and cultural heritage, new opportunities for visitors to explore and connect with nature and culture, increased contribution to the regional economy, and health and wellbeing benefits for visitors and local communities.

Scope

The services under the proposed contract include but are not limited to the following:

• Perform the role of Principal Design Consultant responsible for the delivery of all Architectural and Engineering Services including the engagement, co-ordination and management required to document the proposed works and achieve Crown Certification.
• Provide technical advice, support and respond to queries from the Principal to obtain all planning and statutory approvals required to safely occupy the building and Arc elevated platform. The Certifier will be a sub-consultant and managed by the PDC. The Planning will be managed by the Principal.
• Respond to RFIs during Construction.
