Overview
MidCoast Council is seeking suitably experienced tenderers for full design and construct services at the Gloucester Landfill.
About
The Gloucester Waste Management Centre operates as a waste management solution for Gloucester and surrounds. It consists of an operational landfill accepting putrescible and non-putrescible waste, a Community Recycling Centre and a Tip Shop. The facility will remain operational and open to the public during usual business hours for the duration of the works.
Purpose
Council seeks these works to improve site amenity and operational effectiveness, and to ensure compliance with future landfill cell expansion within the quarry void. The landfilling operations are to expand into an unused part of the quarry void and must be lined before use, in accordance with the NSW EPA Solid Waste Guidelines 2016.
Scope
The scope includes:
- A (clay) waste cell landfill lining system and associated leachate and stormwater infrastructure
- A minimum 650 cubic metre (operating capacity) sediment pond and stormwater management infrastructure
- A circa 1250 square metre bitumen hardstand area
- Renewal of circa 1400 square metres of the facility entrance road (optional works)
- Preparation of EPA approved designs and a Construction Quality Report to validate works post construction and prior to use
- Liaison with a Council-appointed CQA Consultant on the landfill lining works
Contractor Requirements
- Suitable experience in delivering full design and construct services for landfill infrastructure
