Cultural Fire Leadership Group – Secretariat Services and Policy Support

⁠⁠⁠The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) is responsible for bringing together Victoria’s energy, environment, water, agriculture, forestry, resources, climate action and emergency management functions into a single department to maximise connections between the environment, community, industry and economy.

Our challenge is to improve Victoria’s liveability with a population expected to almost double by 2050 while responsibly tackling climate change and protecting our natural environment, infrastructure and heritage for future generations.

DEECA is seeking responses to this Request for Tender (RFT) T2024-0263 for the provision of Secretariat and Policy Development Services to support the Traditional Owner led Cultural Fire Leadership Group (CFLG) for a period of two years.

The Victorian Government is committed to enabling self-determination by creating environments that understand and respects the rights and aspirations of Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians.

The Victorian Traditional Owner Cultural Fire Strategy speaks broadly to the aspirations and objectives of Traditional Owners regarding the reintroduction of cultural fire into the landscape and the protection and sharing of Traditional knowledge. The CFLG is an independent Traditional Owner led body directing the implementation of the Victorian Traditional Owner Cultural Fire Strategy actions and priorities.
