Turf Wicket Renewal Program

Kingston City Council (KCC) is seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced company to work with them on all processes relating to Turf Wicket Renewal Program for Heatherton Recreation Reserve.

Below is the scope of works required to successfully deliver the project, wicket table is 16m wide by 32m length (512m2).

* Excavate and remove 100mm of thatch build up and remove all spoil off site.

* Boxing up of wicket table with timbers is required - due to build-up of soil over the years following yearly renovations, the wicket table has become elevated through the middle and correct level is to be restored.

* Import fresh Merri creek/black soil (allowing 50% for compaction).

* Cultivation of existing wicket table base will be required following the removal of thatch layer, prior to importation of fresh Merri creek soil.

* Compact and laser in 25-30mm layers

* Laser level for duration of project

* Laser level finish with suitable fall matching in with turf surrounds. If further turfing is required, please specify in your response.

* Supply and lay 512m2 of washed couch sod across 5 wickets.

* Sod cut a 3m perimeter apron around wicket table & restore surrounding levels using brown turf sand and sand backed Kikuyu Maxi-rolls. This is subject to levels acquired from the pitch.

* Roll all turf once completed.

* Hand watering post completion until programmed automatic irrigation is managed by Council.

* Supply required labour and machinery (rolling, scarifying, mowing & fertilising) until hand over date of January 2024, ensuring cricket can successfully resume following the Christmas break in the 23/24 fixture.
