Tender Description
Design and Construction of proposed drainage pipe work to George Coates Street Lithgow. The proposed drainage works includes the install of two 900 mm diameter pipe runs that are over 240 meter long. Works will include crossing two street, install of drainage junction pits, forming of drainage discharge point to Farmers Creek, connection of an existing brick culvert to a new junction pit, all traffic control involved with the works, all location of existing services, coordination of existing services protection and disconnection if required, protection of exist mature trees near the work zone and reinstatement of all disturbed surfaces and services.
The area where the works will be completed is George Coates Street, Cupro Street, James Street and Watsford Oval Lithgow.
Background information / Compatibility requirements
The proposed drainage works are required due to the existing 1200 mm wide brick culvert that carries storm water from main street to Farmers Creek being under size and the cause of flooding to the Main Street area on the southern side of the railway line embankment.
The proposed install of the extra 2 drainage line will increase the storage capacity of the drainage system which will reduce the number of flooding incidents to the Main Street area to the south of the work zone.
Stage 2 of the proposed drainage works will be completed between Junction pit 1 and the Main Street drainage system on the southern side of the railway line. This project will involve the under boring of the train line and will be completed at a later date
