The Australian Government is inviting organisations via a restricted process to apply to deliver services under the Social Cohesion Measures – Part A: National Initiative (Youth Component) from 2023–24 to 2024–25.
The Government announced initiatives to address the social cohesion impacts on Australian communities affected by the ongoing Hamas-Israel conflict. The announcement included a $25 million commitment to support Australian Palestinian, Muslim, and other communities who have been affected by the conflict.
It contributes to the achievement of Program 2.5 - Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship Program within Outcome 2 of the Department of Home Affairs’ Portfolio Budget Statement.
The purpose and objective of the grant opportunity is to support youth programs provided by established organisations who have a working relationship with the relevant community.
The intended outcomes of the grant activity are to:
- Improve social cohesion and sense of belonging of youth from Australian Palestinian, Muslim and other affected communities.
- Support organisations to prevent further isolation of vulnerable youth due to the effects of the ongoing conflict.
