Scenic Rim Eat Local Month delivers an award-winning, authentic celebration of the region’s food produce, farmers and natural beauty and environment, and is held annually in June. Coordinated by Scenic Rim Regional Council, the event generates significant visitation, media coverage and community pride.
The event is curated by Scenic Rim Regional Council’s Regional Prosperity and Communications team and offers a series of farm gate events and culinary experiences under the ‘Scenic Rim Eat Local Month’ brand.
Programmed events are largely coordinated and delivered by third parties, with the exception of the Scenic Rim Eat Local Month Launch and Winter Harvest Festival which is coordinated by Council. For more information, the 2023 Scenic Rim Eat Local Month program can be viewed here.
Winter Harvest Festival is a one-day food and wine event on Saturday 29 June 2024 celebrating Scenic Rim producers, artisans and makers. Event goers can take a stroll through produce stalls, enjoy tastings from this season’s harvest, sample local wines, beers and spirits as well as enjoy cooking demonstrations and workshops.
For the first time in 2024, Winter Harvest Festival will relocate to the country town of Kalbar, providing an opportunity to refresh this long-running annual event.
Scenic Rim Regional Council is seeking to engage a Marquee & Underhire Supplier to provide marquee infrastructure and equipment for the 2024 Winter Harvest Festival.

Event Times: 10am to 4pm with all areas to be ‘event ready’ by 9am
Bump In: 0800 – 1700, Thursday, 27 June 2024 – Kalbar Park & Salvation Army Kalbar
0700 – 1700, Friday, 28 June 2024 – George Street & School of Arts
Bump Out: 1630 – 2200, Saturday, 29 June 2024 (directly following the event’s conclusion – all infrastructure must be off George Street & all underhire must be removed from site) 0800 – 1600, Sunday, 30 June 2024 – Kalbar Park & Salvation Army venues. Please note all marquee infrastructure to be removed by 1600 at the latest.
