The existing covers over the Weir boards at the Craigieburn HUB are made from 400mm wide FRP boards. The removal of these boards to access the weir boards is very complicated and do not have lifting points or any procedures for removal and re-installation. This has been assessed as not user friendly and can be unsafe when removing and re-installing, in addition to this there are multiple panel covers and flashing to fill in gaps, making this system overly complicated to remove and install.

These existing covers are proposed to be replaced with a one-piece crane off lid per bay. There are 7 bays that require crane off lids.
