Scope of work
The Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) website serves as a pivotal communication platform, primarily for industry professionals. In 2025, NatHERS is expected to expand significantly to include consumer audiences. This website review will assess the site, considering the expansion requirements, and provide options and processes for a potential site redevelopment.
The successful supplier will work alongside the department to conduct a comprehensive review of the NatHERS website. This will include:
- Analysis of the current website design, structure, and functionality and its suitability for the expanded audience.
- Content audit to evaluate relevancy, accuracy, and alignment of content with current and future audience needs.
- Technical assessment of website design/infrastructure, security, and technology stack.
- Consideration of the addition of a secure portal for industry, as well as a searchable NatHERS accredited assessor database which can be accessed by the public.
- A recommended approach to user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) evaluation, aligning with current and future requirements.
The future website redevelopment project will include user experience analysis, information architecture redevelopment, new wireframe designs, content writing and a future content strategy. These are not in scope for this review.
Deliverables and Documentation
- Documentation of recommended options for upgrades, including potential design changes, content updates, technical enhancements, and UX/UI improvements.
- Step-by-step prioritisation of tasks required to progress the upgrade and development of a roadmap (one per option) for implementation.
- Guidance on use of colour palettes and ‘look and feel’ elements for an expanded audience.
When responding to the Approach to Market and submitting a quote, potential suppliers should provide:
- An outline of proposed approach, methodology, and timeline for completing the review.
- A cost estimate for conducting the review, broken down by key milestones/ deliverables.
Final Report
The supplier will deliver a detailed report outlining the findings from the scoping study, integrating key recommendations and requirements. A clear and comprehensive upgrade plan, including timelines, milestones, and resource requirements should also be included.
