Supply and Construct - Taylor Park Hardworks, Grenfell NSW

⁠⁠⁠Weddin Shire Council is seeking Tenders from suitable companies for the completion of hardworks (supply and construct) in the redevelopment of Taylor Park, Grenfell.

Council has received Stronger Country Community Funding - round 5 to improve the play provision,access and amenity of Taylor Park to create an inclusive playspace and park. The redevelopment of Taylor Park is to make it more versatile and inclusive for Shire residents, incorporating the first inclusive playground for Weddin Shire. Taylor Park will become a key outdoor community hub and form part of a national network of inclusive playspaces. Everyone Can Play principles will be used for the planning, design and build of the overall park and playspace. The new playground will be a unique place where people of all ages and abilities can be included side-by-side in a fun, challenging environment.

The Touched By Olivia Foundation is working with Weddin Shire Council to support the delivery of the exciting new inclusive play and recreation space in Taylor Park, referred to as Livvi’s Place - Taylor Park. It will offer a unique and inclusive play experience, promoting play for everyone.

Weddin Shire is a local government area in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia. The shire's major town is Grenfell. Taylor Park is in the centre of Grenfell, adjacent the Council offices and bordered by Weddin, Middle and Church Streets. There is an existing toilet building in the northern part of the park and an existing historic band stand in the middle of the park. It is considered that the eastern side of the Park should remain as a ceremonial, formal park, with improved accessibility, while the western side of the park is being developed to this accessible play space.

Weddin Shire also includes the small villages of Caragabal, Greenethorpe and Quandialla. Weddin Shire has a population of 3,608. 21% of the population are under 19 years old, 37% are over 60 years of age and Weddin Shire has a SEIFA score of 961.
