This is an opportunity to be part of the peak education committee responsible for the RACP education enterprise.
The key responsibilities of the Chair of the CEC are to:
- lead members of the CEC in developing the RACP education strategy in line with the RACP Board strategy and in overseeing education governance and functions
- ensure education initiatives and projects are implemented in line with the RACP education strategy, and in collaboration with other members of the CEC and RACP staff in Education, Learning and Assessment and Professional Practice
- chair all meetings of the CEC and facilitate open, respectful, and constructive member discussions and debate during meetings
- oversee and facilitate evaluation review and succession planning of the CEC
If you are a current RACP Fellow with the following skills and experience, you are encouraged to apply:
- demonstrated understanding of development and implementation of education strategy and/or policies, preferably within the context of RACP education and training
- demonstrated experience in two or more elements of the RACP programs, including education policy, curriculum, assessment, teaching and learning, or accreditation.
- demonstrated experience in two or more RACP training, assessment or accreditation committees.
- credentials and/or demonstrated experience in medical education, including at the post-graduate level
- demonstrated understanding of the tertiary education environment
- knowledge and understanding of contemporary educational principles, including self-directed learning and adult learning
The Chair of the CEC will be appointed through selection and approval by the Board.
As Chair, the successful applicant will need to commit to attending all meetings throughout the year. Meetings are usually held 5 times a year, including one face-to-face meeting.
Meeting participation is officially recorded and verified and eligible for Category 1 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) hours.
