The Advanced Training Committee (ATC) in Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine (NPM) seeks expressions of Interest from NPM Advanced Trainees to join the Committee.
Description
The ATC is seeking applications from first or second year Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine Advanced Trainees to join as the Advanced Trainee Representative.
The College recognises that trainees, as future Fellows of the College, have a very important role in the College’s training program. As such, the College involves trainees in all aspects of its complex governance as representatives of their fellow trainees.
This is a great opportunity if you are willing to share your perspectives from a trainee’s view as you will assist in communication between the ATC and Advanced Trainees.
Being an Advanced Trainee (AT) Representative will also allow you to be involved and understand how the training committee make decisions to support individual trainees’ progression throughout the course of their training.
Overall, the roles/responsibilities of the Trainee Representative include but are not limited to:
- Commitment to regular attendance at meetings of the Committee;
- Providing trainee perspectives to the issues of concern;
- Representing trainees’ interests;
- Advocating on behalf of trainees.
The ATC holds 1 face-to-face meeting (usually in November) and 1 video conference a year.
Members are appointed to the ATC for initial 3-year term, with the option to renew another term, or until the Advanced Trainee becomes eligible for Fellowship.
