Tender Description

Main Roads is replacing its current Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system, which was implemented in 2001.

This Request for Information (RFI) aims to enable Main Roads to engage with the industry and evaluate the market's capability.

Respondents to this market-sounding only may be invited to showcase their solution and meet with business representatives.

If Main Roads proceeds with a formal procurement, there is an opportunity for Respondents to be shortlisted for a Request for Proposal (RFP) process.

The RFI will seek the following information from suppliers who can provide a proven and comprehensive EAM solution:

  • Background of the organisation, experience in implementing transportation EAM solutions.
  • Functional Requirements to support business needs, including the management and maintenance of road and road-related assets, inspections (I.e. mobility), work order management, level of configuration, analytics and reporting, and emerging disruptive technologies like IoT, mixed reality, AI and digital twin etc.
  • Non-functional Requirements include usability, scalability, security, software delivery model and performance etc.
  • Information Requirements to support linear assets, road-related assets such as pavement, structures, road safety, traffic, electrical and off-road assets including environment, heritage, materials, and geospatial data.
  • User Interface and Experience and whether customisation options are available to tailor the system to user needs.
  • Integration Capabilities of the solution with other systems used within our organisation.
  • Data Migration approach of the supplier.
  • Support, Maintenance and Training during and after the project, including responsiveness, location of service and coverage (local, national, or global).
  • Implementation Timeframe (high level) and the approach that would be used.
  • Cost Structure (high level) of licensing fees and structure and ongoing support services costs such as subscription, maintenance fees, training, defect management, enhancements and change management.
  • References and contact details of other sites that have implemented the vendor solution.
