EOI from Fellows and advanced trainees in the above specialties to form Curriculum Review Groups (CRGs) and help review and revise draft competency-based curriculum for advanced training.
This is an opportunity to shape the future of training for the following Advanced Training specialties in 2024:
- Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine
- Clinical Genetics
- Clinical Pharmacology
- Dermatology
- General and Acute Care Medicine
- Haematology
- Immunology and Allergy
- Infectious Diseases
- Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine
- Neurology (Adult Medicine)
- Neurology (Paediatrics & Child Health)
- Paediatric Emergency Medicine
- Paediatric Rehabilitation Medicine
- Rheumatology (Adult Medicine)
- Rheumatology (Paediatrics & Child Health)
- Sexual Health Medicine
About the project
Advanced Training Curricula Renewal is a multi-year project to transform the College’s medical education programs. Specialty curricula and program requirement handbooks are being redeveloped with a focus on competency-based training, supported by programmatic assessment approaches.
About the role
If you are an RACP member and have:
- expertise and/or interest in curriculum/training program design and development
- knowledge of or interest in the current state of the training program in your specialty
- experience actively participating as a member of a committee or working group (RACP committee or similar)
- motivation and ability to represent the interests of a particular stakeholder group, if applicable (e.g. trainees)
Please submit an expression of interest for membership of the CRG.
The Group will:
- Assess the current training program and make recommendations for improvements
- Review and revise the new curriculum according to the RACP curriculum model, including curriculum standards and learning, teaching, and assessment programs
- Plan a consultation on the new curriculum
- Review the draft curriculum and make recommendations for changes in response to stakeholder feedback
Time commitment
The estimated time required of members in this Group is between 6-20 in-session hours, via Zoom workshops, between May and July 2024. Out-of-session content development and review work will also be required.
Fellows who spend time participating in the CRG can claim the time as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) under category 2: reviewing performance.
