Austroads seeks responses from appropriately experienced service providers to deliver best practice guidance on how Transport management centres respond to intrusive system change outages.
The purpose of this project is to inform and summaries best practice in degraded operations planning, operational responses and other considerations arising from the loss of ITS devices controlling the traffic network. The project will provide guidelines on appropriate levels of ITS availability and resilience required, and outline processes to help and support TMCs manage intrusive ITS outages.
Scope:
This project will:
1. investigate, review and formulate guidelines to support degraded operations and the impacts on operations in TMCs when managing and maintaining the network.
2. investigate and review national and international research, practices, challenges faced and emerging trends surrounding degraded operations, including how these issues could be solved and how challenges could be addressed.
3. investigate how TMCs and agencies can plan for, prepare and mitigate the risk of downtime for ITS devices controlling critical infrastructure and control room operational systems.
Deliverables:

1. Project plan and data management plan

3. Risk and issues log
4. Records of meetings, engagement and consultation
5. Weekly checkpoint reports
