This Tender is invited by the Issuer.
The MDBA is seeking a proposal for the design, supply, configuration and installation of relevant software and hardware to replace our existing Wi-Fi infrastructure at our Canberra office and six regional offices.
Our existing Cisco infrastructure is end-of-life and we are seeking replacement systems to provide equivalent or better functionality, including seamless in-office cutover between wired and wireless connectivity for our laptop fleet (Microsoft Surfaces running Windows 10), provision for Guest (for assigned visitors) and BYOD (for staff) networks on the same system. Control over short-term guest and longer-term BYOD connections to the wireless network via captive portal and some form of management console.
All networks should have Internet access controlled through our existing Web proxies and firewalls.
As part of the wireless system refresh, we expect full wireless coverage in our Canberra and regional offices.
We have attached maps of all sites with indication of existing WAP locations.
We have a strong preference to use existing cabling and location for the new WAPs and do not plan to replace other network infrastructure including floor switches as part of this work.
Our existing floor switches at all sites are Cisco 2960 POE switches, and new WAPs are expected to connect and power from these switches unless otherwise negotiated.
The proposed new wireless infrastructure must be configured to work with the existing MDBA network hardware and systems which include HPE Comware 5710 core switches.
MDBA would expect the Vendor to supply us with a project plan detailing any necessary design and implementation work required and specifying a proposed timeframe. Your RFQ response should not include travel costs. All required travel will be paid for by MDBA separately.
