Manual Handling Loads and Patient Handing Training for the Pilbara and Kimberley Regions

⁠⁠⁠The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) - Pilbara and Kimberley require the provision of Manual Handling Loads and Patient Handling Training for the Pilbara and Kimberley Regions. WACHS may seek to appoint one Contractor for each of the Kimberley and Pilbara or a single Contractor for both regions in its determination of value for money to WACHS.

There is an ongoing business need for the provision of Manual Handling Loads and Patient Handling Training for the Pilbara and Kimberley Regions, which are outlined below.

It is a mandatory training requirement that the workforce who regularly move or shift large items in the workplace or regularly move or manage patients should receive to upskill their safe manual handling techniques annually. This has been reinforced with the two (2) practical manual handling programs mandated in the WACHS Learning Frameworks.

WACHS Pilbara and Kimberley are required to train its existing and new staff in Manual Handling Loads (MHLOD003) and Manual Handling Patient Handling (MHPTH003) as per the mandated learning outcomes listed in the Learning Management System Program Catalogue.

The training will need to be provided across the Pilbara and Kimberley regions to ensure training compliance, reduce corporate risks, and ensure staff safety.

The Contractor will be required to deliver manual handling training services, to the following sites:

• Pilbara Region: Hedland Health Campus, Karratha Health Campus, Newman Health Service, Roebourne District Hospital, Onslow District Hospital, Tom Price Hospital and Paraburdoo Hospital.
• Kimberley Region: Broome Hospital, Derby Hospital, Fitzroy Crossing Hospital, Halls Creek Hospital, Kununurra Hospital and Wyndham Hospital.

Respondents may submit an offer for Pilbara, Kimberley or both regions.  The Contractor will be required to provide the services specified in the Request to all sites within their nominated region. 

A single supplier may be awarded one or multiple regions.
