Provision of Internal Audit Services

⁠⁠⁠Warrnambool City Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced suppliers for the provision of internal audit services.

Council’s Audit & Risk Committee has resolved that an Internal Auditor be appointed by contract to prepare an Internal Audit Plan and then implement and co-ordinate the Internal Audit Plan.

 Overall the Council is expecting to utilise up to 1,350 hours (including administration and meeting times) of Internal Auditor services over the 3 year period.

 The scope of Internal Auditors activities shall include, but not be limited to:

• Preparing an Internal Audit Plan taking into account compliance and internal control environment, strategic and operational risks and areas of significant or potential exposure.
• Determining the extent of compliance with relevant statutes, regulations, direction, instruction, delegation and standards.
• Assess the internal processes for determining and managing key risk areas.
• Reviewing the effectiveness and appropriateness of financial, administrative and management controls.
• Monitoring the adequacy, reliability, integrity and security of accounting and other management information systems.
• Reviewing the efficiency and effectiveness of selected Council’s operations.
• Examining the validity of measures used to assess the achievement of Council’s operations; and
• Special reviews as instructed by the Council or Audit & Risk Committee.
