George Town Health and Wellbeing Strategy

⁠⁠⁠George Town Council is seeking the services of a suitably qualified consultant to develop a Health and Wellbeing Strategy for its council and community.

Scope

The consultant is to prepare a Health and Wellbeing strategy for the municipality of George Town.

The selected consultant/firm will be responsible for:

• Needs Assessment: Conduct a thorough assessment of the community's health needs and wellbeing concerns. This should involve data collection, analysis of existing health reports, and consultations with key stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with community members, local healthcare providers government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to gather insights, feedback, and suggestions for the strategy.
• Objective Setting: Develop priorities, actions, and clear and measurable goals for the municipality’s health and wellbeing, keeping in mind the unique challenges and opportunities present in our community.
• Strategy Development: Based on the needs assessment and stakeholder input, create a comprehensive strategy that outlines actionable initiatives, interventions, and programs. The strategy should cover areas such as healthcare access, disease prevention, mental health support, nutrition, physical activity, and social determinants of health.
• Implementation Plan: Provide a detailed implementation plan that includes timelines, responsible parties, required resources, and performance metrics to track the progress and success of the strategy.
• Monitoring and Evaluation: Propose a framework for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the strategy's impact on community health indicators. This should include mechanisms for feedback collection and adjustments to the strategy as needed.
• Professional development to Council Staff: During the course of the process, the consultant to work along with the council’s community officer and provide guidance and advice in the space of strategy planning and implementation.
