Te Whatu Ora Southern is looking for a supplier that can deliver a Crisis Support service in Waitaki, in conjunction with the Te Whatu Ora Southern, Community Mental Health and Addictions Clinical Team.
The Crisis Support service in Waitaki is a new initiative. We want to have a crisis support service that is home-based for people who are experiencing a period of acute distress. This service will also utilise online tools to provide support into the home, in conjunction with providing support and education for whanau.
It is anticipated this will enable some people to avoid admission to acute inpatient mental health services.
This service will work closely with Specialist Mental Health Teams, locally based community agencies and primary care. The aim of the service is to provide more support options closer to where people live, assist with resolution of the crisis, and provide support for whanau. This service will incorporate involvement of mana whenua, tāngata whenua, iwi, and Māori community to deliver a model that supports tikanga Māori.
