Distribution Transformers and Metering Units up to 36kVA

⁠⁠⁠THE ORGANISATION

Western Power is a Western Australian State Government owned corporation which is responsible for building, maintaining and operating an electricity network which connects over 1.1 million customers to traditional and renewable energy sources.

BACKGROUND

Western Power uses distribution transformers to convert MV (6.6kV to 33kV in Western Power’s network) electrical energy to LV (415V) that is suitable for connection to consumers.

Transformers range from 1,000kVA three phase ground mounted transformers down to low power 16kVA single phase pole mounted transformers to meet the needs of customer connections in accordance with the following Western Power Standards:

• Distribution Substation Plant Manual (DSPM) – Chapters 4 & 10
• Distribution Customer Connection Requirements (DCCR)
• Underground Distribution Schemes Manual (UDSM)
• Single Phase Underground Distribution System (SPUDS) Manual
• Western Australian Service Installation Requirements (WASIR)

Metering units are used for tariff metering purposes for HV connected customers and may be ground mounted or pole mounted. Metering units may be considered for protection purposes if suitable.

THE SCOPE

Western Power is seeking registrations of interest from suitably qualified and experienced companies capable of supplying and delivering:

• Pole Top Transformers and Metering Units
• Pad mounted Transformers and Metering Units
