About the project

Advanced Training Curricula Renewal is a multi-year project to transform the College’s medical education programs. Specialty curricula and program requirement handbooks are being redeveloped with a focus on competency-based training (PDF), supported by programmatic assessment (PDF) approaches.

About the role

If you are an RACP member and have:

  • expertise and/or interest in curriculum/training program design and development
  • knowledge of or interest in the current state of the training program in your specialty
  • experience actively participating as a member of a committee or working group (RACP committee or similar)
  • motivation and ability to represent the interests of a particular stakeholder group, if applicable (e.g., trainees)

We invite you to submit an expression of interest for membership of the CRG.

The CRG’s key responsibilities are to:

  • evaluate the current state of the training program and make recommendations about how it can be improved.
  • review and revise the new curriculum according to the RACP curriculum model, including curriculum standards and learning, teaching and assessment programs
  • plan a consultation on the new curriculum, including mapping relevant stakeholders.
  • review the draft curriculum and make recommendations for changes in response to stakeholder feedback.
  • plan implementation of the new curriculum.

The CRG will have up to 12 members and membership is voluntary.

The estimated time required of members in this Group is between 6-20 in-session hours, via Zoom and/or face-to-face workshop, between August and September. Out-of-session content development and review work will also be required.

Fellows who spend time participating in the CRG can claim the time as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) under Category 2 Reviewing Performance.
