Biddon Creek Scouring Rectification Works

⁠⁠⁠ABOUT THE COUNCIL: The Gilgandra local government area is situated in the central west of NSW and covers an area of 4,800 square kilometers, including the township of Gilgandra and three smaller villages of Tooraweenah, Armatree and Curban. The Biddon Creek site is located approximately 23 km northeast of Gilgandra and is accessed from a causeway on the Biddon-Bearbong Road, an unsealed road linking the Newell Highway to Bearbong Road at Bearbong.

ABOUT THE QUOTE: Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking quotations from suitably qualified and experienced civil construction contractors to rehabilitate an eroded creek bank section in Biddon Creek. The purpose of this Quote is to engage a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to design and construct bank stabilisation and scouring rectification works.

The works will include the design and construction of a new interlocking block wall or a similar structure along the pre-existing creek bank and to stabilize and reinstate eroded section of the creek bank. The contracted works will include supply of a detail design, all materials, labour, plant and equipment and construction above works that will comply with Australian standards unless otherwise stated in this document. Council has already arranged de-energising the overhead power line within the site boundary with Essential Energy at 21 days' notice to facilitate works.

This Quotation is issued to satisfy above requirement along with the requirements of the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005.

STATEMENT OF BUSINESS ETHICS: Gilgandra Shire Council will undertake this tender in accordance with its Statement of Business Ethics.

CLOSING DATE AND TIME: Quotations close at 11am on Friday, 30 June 2023 and submissions must be FULLY RECEIVED BY THIS TIME. The Council is not bound to accept the lowest priced Quotation or all or any part of a Quotation and reserves the right to conduct the Request for Quotation process and select the successful respondent(s) as it sees fit. Council staff are unable to respond to verbal enquiries in relation to the proposal. Late, verbal, faxed or emailed proposals will not be accepted.
