Tender Description

Expressions of interest are open for 6 vacant positions on the College Policy and Advocacy Council Executive Committee.

Description

RACP members care passionately about the profession and the people they treat. Through the College Policy and Advocacy Council Executive Committee (CPAC EC), members can contribute extensive knowledge for the benefit of patients, communities, and the profession.

Up to six (6) positions have arisen on the CPAC EC, including the position of Deputy Chair. We are inviting applications from members of the College to fill those vacancies.

As outlined in the College Policy and Advocacy Council By-Law (PDF), the CPAC and its CPAC EC have been established by the College Board to coordinate consistent and effective policy and advocacy across the College, as the peak decision-making body for health-related policy and advocacy.

CPAC EC has delegated authority to approve the College’s policy and advocacy outputs, giving consideration to feedback received from consulting with relevant College bodies. It considers whether the College should engage in health policy issues, using the CPAC Guiding Principles (PDF) and the CPAC Plan 2022-2026 (PDF) to guide prioritisation of strategic focus areas for P&A.

Conditions

  • The positions are for a term of 3 years (2023-2026), and are expected to commence in August 2023 following the EOI and selection process.
  • CPAC EC is chaired by a Director of the Board, appointed by the Board. The current Chair is the President-Elect, Professor Jenny Martin
  • CPAC EC members also sit on the CPAC which meets twice yearly.
  • CPAC EC report to the CPAC, and through the CPAC to the Board.
  • CPAC EC operate by weekly email circular resolution.
  • CPAC EC is supported by the College Policy & Advocacy Team.
