Expressions of interest are open for a member to join the Consumer Advisory Group (CAG) as a Consumer Representative.

 
Description
 
The CAG represents the broad views of the community in the work of the College. Its responsibilities include providing:
 
  • advice to support effective implementation of strategies to improve consumer engagement and patient centred care
  • strategic advice on the integration of patient centred care in the College’s professional standards and education approaches.
  • a central focus in integrating the consumer voice and priorities into policy and advocacy activities
Applicants should:
 
  • provide relevant skills and expertise to the CAG
  • not represent any particular organisation
  • have high-level communications skills
  • demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity
  • have governance, regulatory and oversight experience
  • be prepared to devote the time to prepare for and attend meetings on a pro bono basis
The Committee holds 1 face-to-face meeting in Sydney and 3 video conferences a year.
 
The Consumer Advisory Group is Co-Chaired by a physician member and a consumer member. The Committee comprises up to 8 members, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and Māori representation.
