Defence is undertaking a significant transformation in response to challenges in our strategic environment. Since Australian Defence capability advantage is frequently built on innovative Science and Technology (IS&T), we need to ensure DSTG is ideally positioned and enabled to deliver.
More Together: Defence Science & Technology Strategy 2030 sets the trajectory for DSTG and is supported by three pillars: One Defence S&T Capability Pillar; Brilliant People, Collaborative Culture Pillar; and Outstanding Research Infrastructure Powering Innovation Pillar. This work will direclty support the Digital Stream of the Outstanding Infrastructure Powering Innovation Pillar.
Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) applies science and technology to safeguard Australia and its national interests. Our mission is to provide the Australian Defence Force with a technological advantage in warfare. Within DSTG, Digital Science Scientific Computing (DSSC) provide world class research digital infrastructure to support cutting edge Defence research.
A key initiative to realise our Strategy is the digital transformation of research. We have recently undertaken a consultation process to co-design a research digital infrastructure end state, arriving at high level solutions understood by both researchers and select research collaborators.
We now seek to explore, benchmark and validate our plans across peer and related research organisations.
DSTG is seeking a qualified organisation or individual to undertake an environmental scan of current and/or developing research digital infrastructure within Australian and allied nations’ Defence research organisations.
