Parks Victoria invites tenderers to submit a response to this RFT for the construction of a new entry road to Werribee River Park at Tinklers Lane, Cocoroc.
The park currently has a single access point via Farm Road, which provides linkage from Geelong Road over the Maltby Bypass. Development Victoria is developing the River Walk Estate north of the Freeway on ex-Melbourne Water land surrounding Farm Road. It is proposed that the Farm Road bridge over the Maltby Bypass will be closed at a future date as part of this staged residential development. This will prevent vehicle access to the park.
A parcel of land south of Farm Road was transferred to Parks Victoria in September 2019 for the purpose of constructing a new park access road from William Thwaites Drive to the existing park entrance point off Farm Road.
The project objectives for the construction of the entry road is as follows:
- The creation of a new 6m wide access road running from the entry point at William Thwaites Drive to the current entry point to Werribee River Park
- Formation of a new park entrance at William Thwaites Drive with security fencing, entry signage and a lockable gate
- Construction of associated drainage within the site
- Relocation of Fibre Optic line
- Installation of electrical connection and autogate - design details to be specified on engagement
- Other associated items
