Tender Description
Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) is the statutory body responsible for promoting and controlling the sport of greyhound racing in Victoria.
GRV oversees more than 1,300 race meetings held across 13 venues throughout the state each year. The greyhound racing industry makes a substantial contribution to the Victorian economy, both as a recreational pursuit, and as an industry that employs thousands of people and generates millions of dollars in state revenues.
The long-term sustainability of the industry is predicated on several factors including the provision of a sufficient number of high-quality tracks that are safe for racing and training. “Safe for racing” means safe for the greyhounds racing at the track and safe for GRV and Club staff who work at the track, and participants and visitors.
GRV has embarked on a 5-year Infrastructure Program, that looks to undertake significant upgrades of several tracks incorporating modern track design and build practices. The Infrastructure Program will deliver tracks equally prioritising greyhound welfare, participant and staff safety and will be a core component of the plan to further drive the development of industry.
This tender will see the construction of a new kennel block and the existing kennel block decommissioned.
