Tender Description
This Expression of Interest (EOI) is for the Main Works Package for the Disability Sports Centre of Excellence (DSCE) for Blacktown City Council as part of a two-stage select tendering process.
Blacktown City Council (Council) is committed to undertake key Transformational Projects to achieve the outcomes in its 2036 Strategic Plan. This project is a collaboration between Blacktown City Council and Disability Sports Australia, funded via the Centre of Excellence fund established by the NSW Office of Sport with the aim of improving access and amenity for those with a Disability. The facility will be complimented by the services and facilities being constructed as part of the Blacktown Exercise Sport and Technology (BEST) project.
The Blacktown International Sportspark (BISP) is located on Eastern Road, Rooty Hill, just 1 kilometre from Rooty Hill train station. 10 minutes from the Blacktown CBD and 40 minutes from Sydney CBD. The proposal DSCE is located within BISP adjacent to the BEST building, which is currently under construction.
Scheduled to open in the second half of 2024, the DSCE will deliver an indoor sports facility that promotes equality through accessibility. Accessibility in this venue will be realised through sporting and community events.
This project includes the construction of the following key components:
- DDA accessible facility (approx. 28002 including circulating spaces that cater for disabled athletes of all ages);
- Court space;
- Ancillary Spaces;
- Landscaping;
- DDA accessible ancillary spaces (including change rooms);
- Efficient solutions for spectators
- Internal fitout
- Road and services works
- Car parking
- Upgrade to existing facility.
This EOI seeks to identify and shortlist a panel of suitably experienced and qualified construction contractors capable of undertaking the Main Works.
The successful Contractor for the Main Works will be engaged under a D&C contract AS4902-2000 General Conditions of Contract (amended).
