Tender Description

The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) provides therapy to individuals who have experienced sexual violence through the Integrated Services for Sensitive Claims (ISSC) contract. Increasing awareness and intolerance of sexual violence has resulted in an increasing number of sensitive claims made to ACC (77.5% in the past five years). This issue is further compounded by insufficient workforce capacity, including a lack of culturally appropriate and geographically available services. Consequently, individuals who have begun the process of making a sensitive claim may have a long wait before they are able to see a therapist, during which time they have limited access to support services.

ACC is investigating how we might be able to reduce the impact of wait times by offering access to digital mental health supports to our sensitive claims' clients. These could also serve as an additional offering to support individuals while they are in therapy or when they have finished or completed their treatment under the ISSC.

We are interested in providing apps and/or web platforms that offer momentary therapeutic tools that support individuals’ mental health and wellbeing, with the understanding that these should be appropriate for individuals who have experienced sexual violence. Clients should be able to use these supports independently and in conjunction with their therapist. The features in which we are interested are consistent with Levels 1 and 2 of the Digital Mental Health and Addiction Tool (DMHAT).

This is an opportunity to be part of a ground-breaking initiative, helping ACC to get it right the first time. ACC is aware that digital well-being solutions are becoming more available and utilised internationally, and that the evidence shows they can be of significant benefit to users. This is a unique opportunity to widen the reach of such tools within Aotearoa New Zealand. ACC aims to provide high quality, evidence-based solutions for clients who are seeking assistance after experiencing sexual violence.
