Tender Description
A one-off amount of $94,000 GST exclusive is available in 2022–23 for the Local Multicultural Community Projects grant opportunity.
The purpose of the grant is to:
- support small culturally diverse community organisations and groups in Australia that provide cultural activities, and community programs and events
- build upon Australia’s multicultural success with a particular focus on building social cohesion.
- encourage new migrants to participate in events which promote Australian values and liberal democracy.
- enable interaction between new migrants and local elected members of government, such as councillors, mayors, and Commonwealth, state and territory Members of Parliament in order to encourage greater participation in civic life in Australia.
It contributes to the achievement of Program 2.5 Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship Program, within Outcome 2 of the Department of Home Affairs’ Portfolio Budget Statement.
