ABOUT THE CITY OF LAKE MACQUARIE:
Lake Macquarie is the Hunter Region's largest city, accounting for 38% of the Lower Hunter population. With the city's current population fast approaching 210,000 Lake Macquarie is also the third largest regional city in New South Wales by population. Moreover, the city's population is expected to grow by 28,000 by 2036, creating a demand for 13,500 new dwellings and associated infrastructure.
ABOUT THE REQUEST FOR QUOTATION:
The Awaba Waste Management Facility is Lake Macquarie City Councils dedicated waste site, located at 367 Wilton Road Awaba, NSW, 2283. A significant expansion of the site was completed in 2019 and 2020, under Project Approval Application Number 10_0139, Awaba Waste Management Facility Expansion Project, granted 08 May 2013, and modified 23 October 2013.
Recently the Department of Planning Industry & Environment undertook Independent Environmental Audit of the AWMF, including Councils documentation. One of the outcomes of that review was to undertake a review and revision of Council's Landfill Environmental Management Plan and associated subplans. This review is required to be completed prior to the 23 November 2022. Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced consultant to undertake this review.
