Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is seeking industry feedback as part of a market interaction process for the New England Highway Westbound Upgrade at Maitland.
Project goals
Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is undertaking a Market Interaction Process (MIP) to inform the delivery and procurement approach for the New England Highway Maitland Westbound Upgrade.
The project aims to reduce congestion, improve safety, and support regional growth at the intersection of the New England Highway, Cessnock Road and Church Street in Maitland. The upgrade will improve intersection capacity and efficiency for commuters and freight, enhance transport network performance, and support future development in the Maitland Local Government Area.
Scope
TfNSW is seeking industry feedback on potential procurement and delivery strategies for the project. The current preferred approach being considered includes a Collaborative Design and Construct (CD&C) model with Very Early Contractor Involvement (VECI).

Following the briefing, participants will be given access to a secure data room to review relevant materials and submit a response to the MIP questionnaire by 5pm Wednesday 22 July 2026.
