Tender Description
Council is seeking Tenders from suitably qualified and capable contractors to redevelop the Bundoora Community Hall at 20 Noorong Ave, Bundoora, VIC 3083.
As Part of the Banyule City Council's Capital Works Program for the year 2022-23, Council is planning to redevelop the Bundoora Community Hall.
Bundoora Community Center helps the community by providing a large variety of daytime classes for men and women. They offer all types of Art, Beading, Knitting & Crochet, Papercraft, Sewing, Eggshell Artistry and Handcrafts. Plus Scrapbooking (Digital & Traditional), Photography.
Banyule City Council helps the Bundoora Community Center and by the centre's redevelopment it will enable them to serve the community better. This project redevelops the accessible toilets which are serving meeting 1 & 2, extends the existing office, replaces the old timber floor and adds a new office and new storage.
The scope of works generally includes but is not limited to construction activities involving:
- Mobilisation and site establishment.
- Set out of works.
- Ensuring the works are undertaken safely and in accordance with all Council, Melbourne Water and statutory safety requirements.
- Location and protection of any and all underground and above-ground services in the works area.
- Confirm in situ geotechnical conditions.
- Demolition of toilets partitions, floor, ceramic tiles, false ceiling & Part of the concrete floor slab as shown in the drawings.
- Demolition of one of the internal ramps to expand the existing office.
- Demolition of windows, relocate services to allow construction of the new office.
- Demolish the existing timber floor & install a new Parquetry floor matching the old one.
- Opening a door in the existing Hall to access the new storage.
- Demolish the existing cupboard & install a new cupboard as shown in the architectural drawings.
- Demolish the folding doors, block the cavity, remove windows, install plasterboard over the timber cladding & painting the whole meeting rooms 1 & 2.
- Install a new door for meeting 1/2 & kitchen.
- Install partitions for the accessible toilets, storage & cleaning room. The works include concrete floor slab, ceramic tiles for walls & floors, false ceilings, sanitary fixtures, doors, painting & services.
- Construct a new office near the main entrance. The works included the excavation, board piers, footings, concrete floors, steel columns, partitions, roofing, skylight, false ceiling, doors, window, joinery, carpet tiles, services (electrical, fire, mechanical & hydraulic) & painting.
- Construct additional storage, which will be accessed from the main Hall. The works include excavation, board piers, footings, concrete floors, steel columns, partitions, roofing, false ceiling, doors, window, joinery, carpet tiles, services (electrical, fire, mechanical & hydraulic) & painting.
- Landscape work including removal of the existing trees, installation of walkways, new trees, plants & seats.
- Construction of fencing and ancillary works.
- Documentation of as-constructed information, including all inspections, testing and survey.
- Inspection and testing of the works.
- Site clean-up & handing over.
- The Contractor has to allow that the work shall be done in two stages to allow the Center to be operational. Stage one will include the replacement of the Parquetry floor to the main Hall, construction of the new office & new storage. Stage two will include refurbishment to meeting 1/2, toilets, extension of the existing office & landscape works.
