Central Goldfields Shire Council (Council) is seeking submissions from suitably qualified Contractors for alterations and additions to the Maryborough Railway Station as part of the Maryborough Railway Station Activation Project.
This is a construction only tender.
The Maryborough Railway Station Activetaion Project is one of Council's Priority Projects and a key feature in its Tourism and Events and Economic Development strategies. Funding has been made available to complete thee works by Regional Development Victoria under the Regional Infrastucure Fund - Stimulus Round.
The Maryborough Railway Station is an iconic heritage building, the key deliverables set out for the project include:
- Installation of digital infrastructure and an interpretive experience within the Visitor Information Centre (to be delivered by others)
- Expansion of the Cafe and Visitor Information Centre and associated furnishings
- Refurbishment of the former stationmasters' quarters for use as stuido/office spaces or other felxible uses
- Provision of up to three creative studio spaces for multiple artists in the north end of the building
- Expand the co-working space to include booths and meeting spaces and assocaited furnishings
- All abilities access at the platform/ground floor level including entries, doorways and halls where required
- Upgrade of pedestrian/cycling access and parking for larger tourist vehicles
- Landscaping works including a sculpture garden.
