Website Replacement

⁠⁠⁠Gippsland Water are seeking tenders for the replacement of our existing corporate website with a modern platform and new Content Management System (CMS). This work will include design, project management, build and implementation of a new content management system of a new CMS-based website.

In recent workshops with representatives from across the organisation, the following key challenges were identified:

1. standardisation – a lack of consistency in the design and layout of website pages;
2. customer experience – the current website is challenging to navigate and difficult to use;
3. design limitations – the website design is dated and changes are hard to make and often require coding to modify;
4. forms – there are many forms that are not digitised and need to be filled offline and submitted via email; and
5. mobility and digitisation – the website does not render well across all devices and the media management functionality is outdated.

Due to these complexities and key challenges, we’ve recognised a need to upgrade the site and implement a new CMS with implementation for use no later than 31 December 2023.

To facilitate this, we have developed an information architecture for both our website and intranet. This information architecture also considers system and information flows and integrations as well as proposed workflows and governance processes. In developing this information architecture, we have also conducted some engagement with customers to get an understanding of what they look for in our website.

Functional and non-functional requirements have also been developed, and the service provider will need to ensure their proposal, and work, is in line with these.
