Tender Description
This work is for a consultancy service to carry out a condition assessment of the concrete reservoir at the Taroom water treatment plant which is located on the corner of Cranmer and Phipps Streets. Taroom, a small town of Banana Shire Council (BSC) is situated approximately 300 km south of Rockhampton.
The reservoir stores the bore water. Before storing, water travels through the aerator located on the roof of the reservoir. After the aeration, chlorine is dosed.
Access is available to enter the reservoir. At the time of inspection, the reservoir will be emptied by operators. However, the operator should be informed approximately 2 weeks ahead and the reservoir can’t be left emptied not more than 3 days.
The reservoir was built in 1969/1970. The size of the reservoir is 11.5 m (diameter) and approximately 4.7 m (height) with a capacity of 0.45 ML. Reservoir photos are provided below and the roof drawing is provided in Appendix A. There are a few pillars inside the reservoir, but they are not in use to support the reservoir’s roof.
