The TAC is upgrading audio visual technology to 39 meeting rooms at their premises located at 60 Brougham Street, Geelong, which will also include hearing augmentation to nine.

The TAC has appointed an audio visual integrator to install the audio visual technology and is currently in the process of appointing a specialist hearing augmentation contractor.

The TAC now needs to engage a suitably qualified and experienced builder to undertake the enabling works to support the project. The builder must be pre-qualified on the Victorian Government Department of Treasury and Finance Construction Supplier Register.

The scope of the works includes but is not limited to:

• The structural reinforcement of walls to support the weight of the new audio visual equipment followed by make good.
• The hanging of screen mounting poles from the ceiling slab.
• Installing structural floor supports to take the weight of the new audio visual equipment on floor stands.
• New services such a power and data including the installation of new floor boxes and table boxes to meeting room tables.
• Enabling works to accommodate the hearing augmentation. This may mean lifting floors or dropping ceilings depending on the technology selected followed by reinstatement. Sprinkler drain downs may be required.
• Some minor joinery works.
• Some minor lighting upgrades.
• Coordination with the audio visual integrator.
• Managing the hearing augmentation contractor who will be novated to the successful builder.

The works have been fully documented and therefore this is a construction contract only.

The works are expected to commence in September 2022. To minimise the impact on business as usual operations, the works will be staged over a period of time and any works with a high impact will need to be undertaken after hours. The successful builder will need to work with all key stakeholders to develop an agreed program.
